Course Prerequisite
    Calculus in one variable and fundamentals of Linear Algebra.
Course Description

Numerical analysis forms the foundation of scientific and
engineering
computing. In this course, we will
study some fundamental algorithms on
- solutions of equations in one variable;
- polynomial interpolation and approximation;
- numerical differentiation and integration;
- numerical methods for linear systems;
- numerical solutions of ODEs.
Some advanced topics on numerical solutions of PDEs will be touched
on
in Numerical Aanalysis II. MATLAB and C++ will be used
for programming.
Grading Scheme

Final grade will be determined by your performance in
Homework and
Projects (20%),
Midterm Exam (30%) and
Final Exam (50%).
