Research Interest

Research programs in my lab focus on developing efficient metal-catalyzed organic reactions that promote fundamental bond formation, with an emphasis on producing important chiral building blocks from cheap and common chemicals. We are also interested in mechanistic investigation on elementary steps on transition metals, via experiments and DFT calculations.

In the past few years, my group has contributed to palladium-catalyzed processes such as radical alkylation reactions, Catellani-type CH activation reactions, asymmetric Heck reaction and asymmetric enolate couplings. Other ongoing projects include nickel-catalyzed enantioselective transfer hydrogenation and copper-catalyzed conjugate addition reactions.
