The Third Asian Workshop on Symmetric Key Cryptography - ASK 2013

About ASK 2013

ASK has been held to promote research on symmetric key cryptography (block ciphers, stream ciphers, hash functions, analysis, designs, proofs and implementations of these primitives etc.) in Asia since 2011. ASK 2013 will be held inside the Shandong University, Weihai campus (SDUW), China on 27, 28 and 29 August 2013. The program will contain mainly two parts, invited talks and group discussions. ASK 2013 targets mainly for active students and young researchers to learn and work in small interest groups.

Interested Asian-based (including Australia) researchers are welcome to contact us for participation. We also welcome researchers outside Asia to contact us (the precedence will be given to Asian-based researchers if the number of participants exceeds the capacity). A limited number of stipend for plane ticket may be available for PhD students who have difficulty obtaining funding.

Travel

Domestic participants may fly to Weihai (Airport Code: WEH), or take a train.

From abroad, one may fly to Beijing (PEK) or Shanghai Pudong (PVG), and then take a domestic flight from PEK or PVG to Weihai (WEH). You may plan your international flight so that you don't have to stay in Beijing or Shanghai overnight.

Weihai International Airport is about 50km from Weihai International Academic Center of Shandong University. You can take a taxi directly to the venue, and the price is about 150RMB. Also you can take the airport bus and get off at the last stop (the price is about 30RMB), and students from Shandong University will be there to help you get to the venue.

Please feel free to contact ask2013sdu@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Advice: If you come from abroad, please have your currency exchanged at the airport. The local transportation services only take Chinese Yuan (RMB). Of course, you can exchange for RMB at any bank in China. Please bring your passport when you make the exchange. Banks and their airport branches are the only legal money exchange authorities in China.
